If you haven’t seen Susan Rice do comedy, you’ve done yourself a disservice. She is wry and witty and wise and I’m sorry for the alliteration but she’s wonderful. Susan been performing for over 30 years, slaying audiences and inspiring comics the whole time. You’ve still got three chances to see her tonight at Harvey’s (5pm, 7:30pm and 10pm) with the also amazing Nathan Brannon and Jacob Christopher. Be there folks!!
You knew it wouldn’t be long until there was comedy back in the Mt. Tabor Lounge! Local hero Brian Blank is bringing a really cool show to the black light jungle on Oct. 5. It’s called Comics Quitting, and it’s about comics quitting. Quitting anything really — jobs, bad habits, who knows what will happen. The line-up is pretty darn rad, with Nathan Brannon, Sean Jordan, Jimmy Newstetter, Belinda Carroll, Boomer, Will Woodruff, and Jacob Christopher all doing sets. Show starts at 10:30 and is only $5. Czech it out!
Tonight! It’s the thrilling conclusion to two weeks of great local comedy at Helium. The final round of the club’s Portland’s Funniest Person Contest is tonight, and the line-up is not to be missed! Come out tonight at 7:00pm to watch Jordan King, Xander Deveaux, Anthony Lopez, Cody McCullar, Nathan Brannon, Andrew Michaan, Christian Ricketts, Shane Torres, Tim Hammer and Gabe Dinger duke it out for this year’s crown. Tickets are $20 each or two for one if you mention people’s names. It’ll be an amazing night!
