Breaking news at this hour from local comedy correspondent and all-around good guy Dennis Williams! Read on, McDuff:
Show this Wednesday with Lonnie Bruhn, Dan Cossette and Anthony Lopez at the Tiger Bar in downtown Portland. Hosted by the amazing talented kinda smelly me. Check the flyer below. Dan is on a toilet.
I really kind of love this flier ~
And comedy keeps rolling in from every side! If you like your stand-up farther north in the world and in a rowdyfun bar instead of a rowdyfun theater, then by all means get yourself to Boss Hawg’s on NE 102nd and Glisan. Lonnie Bruhn‘s awesome stand-up showcase has one decidedly killer line-up tonight, featuring Tim “The Hammer” Hammer, Shane “The Train” Torres, and Dax “The Reason for the Season” Jordan, getting in one last headlining set as a bachelor before his wedding tomorrow. Show starts at 9pm. $10 gets you in the door and two drink tickets, hot damn! Folks, there are seriously glorious comedy parties all over town tonight, do not miss out!
Fasten your seat belts, Nader fans, because there is a ton of comedy this weekend, all with varying degrees of compliance with federal safety standards. The first one on the docket is Dennis Williams’ kick-ass benefit for the Red Cross, aptly named Comedy not Earthquakes. From the Facebook event:
Comedy is great, earthquakes suck. No-one has ever said “I sure am glad that earthquake happened, sure saved the day.” This is obvious, what isn’t as obvious are ways that we can help survivors of this tragedy. If you want to help out and have a good time in the process, come to Comedy Not Earthquakes on March 12th, 9pm at Kelly’s Olympian.
I have somehow gotten 9 of the funniest people in the NW to donate their talents for this cause. Also, after the show, Brains Like Computers will rock house with some awesome tunes. There will be free beverages provided by Viso and of course plenty of booze supplied by Kelly’s Olympian (not free). 100% of the proceeds will be going to the Red Cross in support of their Haiti Relief efforts.
Awesome cause, friends and family. Definitely make your way to this one folks!
